Niagara River

Today we made it into Ontario to go to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls.  Just in case you aren't aware, the Niagara River forms Niagara Falls, which falls in two different spots, one in the United States and one in Canada. The United States side is Bridal Veil Falls and the Canadian side is Horseshoe Falls.  You can see both sides really well in Ontario, where as in New York it is harder to see the more famous Horseshoe Falls portion that lies in Canada.

Bridal Veil Falls

We found great parking nearby and hiked down a trail that lead right up to the American Bridal Veil Falls.  It was breathtaking.  I think pictures truly don't do it justice.

There is a pedestrian road that lines the view of each side of the falls, so that you can walk back and forth between them.  So once we took our fill of pictures, we walked down to the Canadian side to take in Horseshoe falls.

Ready for our ride!

There is a ride called the Maid of the Mist that takes you to the base of both falls, so of course we wanted to do this.  They give you a poncho to wear, so of course we got wet.  It was amazing to be so close to the falls!

Getting wet!

Close to the falls!

There are a lot of pictures in the Photo Gallery, so they may take a minute to load, but I think they are worth it!

Photo Gallery is here.
