Jumping at the same time!

Today we said goodbye to Betsy and headed out to Hupp's Hill Civil War Park, part of the larger area of the Cedar Creek Battlefield area. They have a museum that depicts the various Civil War battles in the area, as well as a film.

Once we finished here, we drove into Front Royal to get on the Skyline Drive, which is the 2nd most scenic drive in the country. It stretches 105 miles through the Shenandoah National Park, and you can only drive 35 mph or less throughout. We didn't want to go all the way, just a little to get a taste of the beauty of the area. We drove to the Dickey Ridge Visitor's Center, stopping at two overlooks on the way.   It is truly a beautiful drive.

After that, we got on the road again and headed towards Pennsylvania. The kids couldn't believe we were crossing from Virginia to West Virginia, Maryland, and into Pennsylvania in less than an hour. We made another stop at the Pennsylvania Welcome Center and got brochures and information from the workers there. Then we headed in towards Gettysburg, which is our destination for tomorrow.
